Villasalto is a traditional municipality in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, located approximately 40 kilometres northeast of the Sardinian capital. The village is embedded in a landscape steeped in history, primarily known for its connection to mining. With a population currently around 900 inhabitants, the municipality covers an area of approximately 130 square kilometres. As part of the Parco Geominerario Storico ed Ambientale della Sardegna, Villasalto reflects the close bond between the local community and the region's geological features.
