Ilbono

Ilbono is a Sardinian community of approximately 2,000 inhabitants located in the Province of Ogliastra. The village sits at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level and is strategically positioned about 10 kilometres west of the coastal town of Tortolì. Characterised by its location along the Foddeddu river, the town combines proximity to the sea with the mountainous landscape of the Sardinian hinterland. The municipality serves as a significant economic hub in the region, with its local structure relying heavily on industrial sectors. The municipality of Ilbono is located in the heart of Ogliastra, in eastern Sardinia. Geographically, the town is situated about 80 kilometres northeast of the island's capital, Cagliari. A defining geographical feature is the Foddeddu river, which flows in the immediate vicinity. Connectivity to the regional transport network is ensured by the short distance of only 9 to 10 kilometres to Tortolì and the eastern coast, making Ilbono a bridge between the mountainous interior of the island and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
