The archaeological complex of Scerì, nestled in the "heart of Sardinia" near Ilbono, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and fascinating archaeological sites in Eastern Sardinia. It is strategically located on a granite tower and is partly surrounded by a river, giving it a special, almost magical aura.
At the heart of the complex is the Nuraghe Scerì, a complex nuraghe with an annexed body, artfully constructed from medium-sized, squared granite blocks. Its tholos structure, a false dome made of overlapping rows of stones, is still impressively preserved today, soaring to a height of about 9.52 meters.
In addition to the nuraghe, the complex also includes two "Domus de Janas," prehistoric rock-cut tombs with a single cell plan, carved into the granite rock. Another significant component is the associated Nuragic village, which provides insights into the daily life of the Nuragic people. Exploring this place is a true journey through time.
