Cala di Santa Caterina
Narbolia
Cala di Santa Caterina is a picturesque beach. There are two famous beaches of this name in Sardinia: one in the west near Cuglieri, the other in the south near Villasimius at Capo Carbonara.
Location
There are two well-known beaches referred to as Cala di Santa Caterina, and both offer a unique atmosphere.
The Spiaggia di Santa Caterina di Pittinuri in western Sardinia, near Cuglieri, is characterized by medium-grained sand. The water depth increases rapidly here, and the water is not as clear as at some other beaches in the region. It is often exposed to winds. This section is ideal for those seeking a less crowded environment.
Cala Caterina near Villasimius in the south of the island is a small, idyllic beach, surrounded by granite rocks. It is known for its fine, white sand and the calm, Mediterranean sea. From a private park, this beach is often easily accessible, just about 100 meters away. Here, intense colors and the scents of the sea merge with the Mediterranean scrub.
