Betili

Betili are fascinating testimonies of Sardinia's prehistoric cultures. These often simple but significant stones were revered as cult objects, a practice known as litholatry. They represent a direct link to the religious and spiritual beliefs of the Nuragic people, a highly developed civilization that shaped the island for centuries.

Particularly insightful are the findings at Monte Prama, where numerous Betili were discovered alongside impressive Nuraghe models. Betili are also frequently found near Giants' Tombs, monumental collective burial sites, such as at the "Tomba dei Giganti Is Concias" or "Perdu Pes".
