The Lanaitho valley runs from the Cedrino valley deep into the Supramonte of Oliena and Dorgali. Its floor is a karst depression without surface drainage: water disappears into swallow holes and re-emerges downstream in springs. Major cave systems such as Sa Oche and Su Bentu open on the slopes, among ancient holm oak woods and junipers. The valley is also the access route to the nuragic village of Tiscali and home to mouflon and peregrine falcon.
