Location
The archaeological site of Mont'e Prama lies on a gentle slope descending towards Stagno di Cabras, set in the picturesque landscape of the Sinis Peninsula. Its discovery was accidental in 1974 during ploughing, when the first fragments of the famous statues emerged.
This location is intrinsically linked to the Giants of Mont'e Prama, a unique collection of stone sculptures depicting warriors, archers, and boxers. These impressive figures date back to the Nuragic period and represent one of Sardinia's most significant archaeological finds.
The reconstruction has resulted in 38 complete sculptures, now primarily exhibited in the museums of Cabras or Cagliari. The Mont'e Prama site offers not only insights into its discovery history but also into the enigmatic legacy of an advanced civilization.
