The Nuraghe Arrubiu, also known as the 'Red Nuraghe' due to the color of its stones, is an impressive example of Sardinia's pre-Nuragic culture. This colossal complex in the territory of Orroli covers five thousand square meters and consists of a central tower, once 15 meters high, surrounded by a system of other towers and walls.

The primary construction of this mighty edifice dates back to around 1500 BC, with further additions and modifications in the 14th century BC. It is the largest known nuraghe on the island and testifies to the advanced building skills of the time. The massive stones were assembled without mortar or cement – an incredible engineering feat.
