The Giara di Siddi is the smallest of the Marmilla's three basalt plateaus, rising about 250 metres above the hills of Siddi. Like its larger neighbour, the Giara di Gesturi, it formed from a lava sheet that shielded the softer marls beneath from erosion; its rims drop away in steep basalt escarpments. Water gathers in shallow hollows in winter and the grassland flowers in spring. The plateau holds the Sa Domu 'e s'Orcu tomb; there are no free-roaming horses here.
