Location
Capo Caccia is a limestone headland closing the bay of Porto Conte west of Alghero. Its cliffs drop sheer to the sea for up to 180 metres and lie within Porto Conte Regional Park and the Capo Caccia – Isola Piana marine protected area. Griffon vultures, peregrine falcons and Eleonora's falcons nest in the walls; below is the entrance to Neptune's Grotto, reached via the Escala del Cabirol staircase. The lighthouse stands at the end of the road, its terrace looking out over the offshore island of Foradada and, in clear air, as far as the Stintino peninsula. Sunset here is one of north-west Sardinia's best-known natural spectacles.

A free parking lot (Stalla) is available, from which a paid shuttle service (5 euros round trip) runs to Capo Caccia. Parking directly at Piazzale Capo Caccia is not allowed.

Access to the Neptune's Grottoes is via the Escala del Cabirol with 654 steps along the cliff (400 m, 119 m elevation gain). This is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Visitor notes
It is recommended to use the shuttle service from the Stalla parking lot, as parking directly at Piazzale Capo Caccia is not allowed. Allow enough time for the 654 steps to the grotto.
