Overview

Zeddiani is a small Italian municipality located in the province of Oristano on the island of Sardinia, specifically within the Campidano of Oristano region. Home to approximately 1,120 inhabitants, the village sits about nine kilometres north of the city of Oristano. The municipal area covers roughly 11.9 square kilometres and is situated about 100 kilometres northwest of the regional capital, Cagliari. Characterized by its proximity to the Riu Sa Praia stream, Zeddiani serves as a quiet residential community in the fertile western plains of the island, offering a geographic profile typical of the agricultural landscapes found in this part of Sardinia.

Location

Zeddiani is geographically situated in Western Sardinia, nestled within the Campidano plain of Oristano. Located merely nine kilometres north of the provincial capital Oristano, it benefits from a well-connected position. The municipality spans an area of 11.9 square kilometres and is defined by the presence of the Riu Sa Praia stream. Its location approximately 100 kilometres northwest of Cagliari makes it a peripheral part of the wider regional network, maintaining a close relationship with the surrounding agricultural land and the nearby urban infrastructure of the Oristano district.

Nature

The natural environment of Zeddiani is primarily defined by the Riu Sa Praia stream flowing through the municipal territory. The landscape is integrated into the larger Campidano plain, resulting in a mostly flat terrain characteristic of the Oristano hinterland. The area, covering nearly 12 square kilometres, showcases the typical lowland features and river-based ecosystems found in western Sardinia.
