Überblick

Tramatza is an Italian municipality in western Sardinia, belonging to the province of Oristano. The village is nestled in the fertile plains of the Campidano of Oristano and has a population ranging between 880 and approximately 1,000 residents, depending on the census period. Due to its strategic location not far from the provincial capital, the town serves as a quiet point of reference in this agriculturally shaped region. The municipal territory covers an area of nearly 17 square kilometres and is located at a geographically favourable distance from both the sea and the island's main transport links.

Lage

The municipality is located in the Campidano plain in the northwestern part of the Province of Oristano. The provincial capital, Oristano, is situated approximately 12 to 15 kilometres away in a southwesterly or southern direction. The distance to the Sardinian capital, Cagliari, in the southeast is about 100 kilometres. Tramatza spans an area of 16.8 square kilometres. Its location in the middle of a fertile lowland shapes the local environment, making the town a typical example of the settlement structure in the western-central part of the island.
