Seneghe

Seneghe is a traditional municipality in the Province of Oristano, located in central-western Sardinia. The village is home to a population of approximately 1,600 to 1,900 inhabitants and covers an area of around 58 square kilometres. As part of the historical Montiferru region, the town is characterized by its authentic atmosphere and its strategic position between the coast and the mountains. The municipality of Seneghe is situated in a geographically advantageous position in the northwestern part of Sardinia. The town is located approximately 20 to 25 kilometres north of Oristano and about 110 kilometres northwest of the island's capital, Cagliari. The settlement was built on the eastern slope of the Montiferru massif and sits at an average altitude of 305 metres above sea level. This location provides wide views over the surrounding plains towards the coast. The municipal territory covers an area of approximately 57.8 square kilometres and borders the characteristic volcanic landscapes of the region, which have significantly shaped the local settlement structure.

The natural environment of Seneghe is primarily determined by the Montiferru massif, on whose eastern spurs the municipality is located. The altitude of 305 metres ensures a temperate climate and varied flora. The surrounding area is characterized by the volcanic origins of the mountains, manifesting in fertile soils and dense vegetation.
