Sedilo

Sedilo is a municipality with about 1,900 inhabitants located in the north of the Province of Oristano. The town is situated in the historical sub-region of Guilcer and is characterized by its strategic location in central Sardinia. Located approximately 40 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Oristano, the municipality serves as an important cultural center for the region. The settlement is part of a territory steeped in history, known for its authentic Sardinian structure. At a distance of about 110 kilometers from the regional capital Cagliari, Sedilo is today firmly anchored in the administrative structure of Oristano, having formally belonged to another province until the 1970s. Until 1974, the municipality was officially part of the Province of Cagliari, before the Province of Oristano was newly established and Sedilo was assigned to it. The distance to the city of Oristano to the north is approximately 40 kilometers, while the distance to the southern metropolis of Cagliari measures about 110 kilometers. This location makes Sedilo a hub between the different landscapes of the Guilcer and the adjacent provinces in the center of the island.
