Nurri

Nurri is a Sardinian municipality located in the heart of the Sarcidano subregion, forming part of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari. The town is home to approximately 2,000 residents and covers an area of about 74 square kilometres. Situated roughly 60 to 80 kilometres northeast of the regional capital, Cagliari, the settlement is notable for its strategic inland position. The municipality is characterised by its proximity to the Flumendosa River, which is dammed in the northeastern area to create an expansive reservoir. This lake serves as a prominent natural border and significantly shapes the landscape and geographical identity of the region.

The municipality of Nurri is situated in a hilly environment within the historical region of Sarcidano. Its geographical location is defined to the east and northeast by the course of the Flumendosa River. In this area, the municipal territory borders the dammed river, which serves as a significant water resource for the surrounding region. The distance to the city of Cagliari, located to the south, ranges between 60 and 80 kilometres depending on the route, establishing Nurri as a central location in the south-central part of the island.
