Overview

Nureci is a peaceful municipality in Sardinia, belonging to the province of Oristano. With a small population of approximately 300 inhabitants, the village offers a serene atmosphere in the island's interior. It covers an area of about 12.9 square kilometres and represents the typical structure of rural Sardinian settlements. The municipality is distinguished by its location in the historical region of Marmilla and serves as an example of slow living away from major tourist crowds. As part of the province of Oristano, it acts as a link between the coastal region and the mountainous hinterland, maintaining its authentic character. Visitors find here a piece of original Sardinia, characterized by consistency and a strong connection to the local land.

Location

Geographically, Nureci is located approximately 33.5 to 35 kilometres east-southeast of the provincial capital, Oristano. The municipality is also situated about 70 kilometres north of Cagliari, the capital of the Sardinia region. This central position within the province of Oristano provides access to various landscapes of the island. The municipal territory covers an area of just under 13 square kilometres, predominantly characterized by hilly terrain. The strategic position between the coastal plain and the foothills of the central highlands makes the village an interesting point for travelers wishing to explore the Sardinian interior. Due to the low population density, the natural environment remains largely untouched and offers expansive views over the surrounding Oristano region.
