Nule

Nule is an Italian municipality located in the Metropolitan City of Sassari, on the island of Sardinia. Home to between 1,250 and 1,272 residents, the village is situated within the historic region of Goceano. It is positioned approximately 140 kilometres north of Cagliari and about 60 to 75 kilometres southeast of Sassari. Set in a mountainous area, the town maintains an authentic character typical of Sardinian inland communities, far from the primary tourist hubs. Its strategic placement on a high plateau showcases the cultural heritage and enduring settlement patterns of the Sardinian interior within the Sassari province.

The municipality of Nule is situated at an elevation of approximately 700 metres above sea level. Topographically, the village is built on the outermost edges of the Buddusò plateau, providing it with a distinctive geographic setting. As part of the historical Goceano region, it borders various areas within the Metropolitan City of Sassari. The distance from the coast and larger urban centres like Sassari emphasizes the isolated yet culturally independent nature of this plateau society. Access is provided via the Sardinian road network connecting the municipality to both the north and south of the island, while the immediate surroundings are defined by the mountain ranges of north-central Sardinia.
