Castelsardo

Castelsardo, known in the local Sassarese dialect as Castheddu Sardhu, is a town and municipality located in the Metropolitan City of Sassari in northwestern Sardinia. With a population of approximately 5,600 inhabitants, the town is situated at the eastern end of the Gulf of Asinara. As a prominent member of the 'I borghi più belli d’Italia' association, it is recognized as one of Italy's most beautiful villages, offering a unique blend of historical architecture and a strategic coastal position.

Located in the northwestern part of Sardinia, the municipality marks the eastern boundary of the Gulf of Asinara.
