Calasetta

Calasetta is an Italian municipality with approximately 2,800 inhabitants located in southwestern Sardinia. The town is situated on the island of Sant'Antioco within the province of Sulcis Iglesiente. As one of only two main towns on this island, Calasetta is characterized by its unique location and maritime atmosphere. The settlement serves as the northern counterpart to the larger municipality of Sant'Antioco, which also represents its only land border. Due to its geographical position, the municipality is a central point of interest in the Sud Sardegna region, maintaining an independent character despite its relatively small population.

The municipality is located in the northern part of the island of Sant'Antioco, off the coast of the Sulcis Iglesiente province. Calasetta is, alongside the eponymous town of Sant'Antioco, the only other municipal administrative unit on this island. Geographically, the town borders exclusively with the territory of Sant'Antioco, highlighting its self-contained location on the island. The population ranges between 2,776 and 2,795 tracked residents, making Calasetta the smaller of the two communities on Sant'Antioco.
