Borutta is a small Italian municipality located in the Metropolitan City of Sassari, Sardinia. The village belongs to the ancient historical-geographical region of Meilogu and is home to fewer than 250 inhabitants. Despite its modest size, it is a quintessential part of the settlement structure in the northwest of the island. Positioned in a hilly landscape, approx 30 kilometres from the provincial capital of Sassari, Borutta represents the typical character of Sardinian inland communities. The distance to the regional capital Cagliari in the south is about 150 kilometres. As part of Meilogu, the municipality is embedded in an area known for its geological and cultural importance, offering an authentic insight into traditional life away from the coastal tourist hubs.
