Location
Sa Spendula is a waterfall in the municipality of Villacidro in southern Sardinia. The name literally means "waterfall" in Sardinian. Formed by the Coxinas stream — which further downstream becomes the Rio Seddanus — it drops in three steps totalling about 60 metres over rounded granite blocks. Being just minutes from the village centre and next to a small park with picnic areas, it is a popular summer outing. In 1882 Gabriele D'Annunzio dedicated a sonnet to the site, recalled by a plaque. Sa Spendula is at its best in the wetter months; in high summer often only a trickle remains.

There is a large parking area from which the last cascade is easily accessible. Another parking area exists further up for access to the upper cascades.

Admission is free. From Villacidro, follow Via Gonnosfanadiga and turn onto the road to Sa Spendula.
