Necropoli di Marchianna

The Necropolis of Marchianna, located near Villaperuccio, is a significant prehistoric burial site in Sardinia. It comprises a group of approximately ten to eighteen rock-cut tombs, known as Domus de Janas, meaning "Houses of the Fairies." These fascinating rock tombs were used for burials over thousands of years and testify to a deep cultural and spiritual connection of the inhabitants of that time with their landscape and the afterlife.

Although the Necropolis of Marchianna is a jewel of Sardinian archaeology, it is less developed for tourism than other equally important sites. This gives it a special charm of untouched authenticity and tranquility.
