Location
The Foresta Demaniale di Porto Conte – Prigionette, often referred to as 'Noah's Ark', is a particularly sensitive and species-rich part of the Porto Conte Natural Park. The landscape is extremely varied, featuring impressive cliffs dropping steeply into the sea as well as dense forests. Covering an area of 2,136.3 hectares, the forest extends across the municipalities of Alghero and Sassari, from sea level up to a maximum altitude of 361 meters at Monte Doglia. The area is rich in plant and animal species and is considered a biodiversity hotspot.

The Prigionette-Porto Conte state forest is open all year round with varying hours depending on the season. Specific opening hours for Oasi Prigionette are: February 1st – March 31st, Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry 3:00 PM). The Torre Nuova di Porto Conte (part of the Ecomuseum) is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, also open on Ferragosto.
