Location
The Complesso Nuragico di Seruci, located in Gonnesa, is one of Sardinia's most significant prehistoric sites. It spans over six hectares and bears witness to the highly developed Nuragic culture that flourished on the island between the 2nd and 1st millennia BC.
The core of the complex is a monumental Nuraghe, surrounded by the remains of an extensive village with over a hundred huts. Situated on the hillside, the Nuraghe dominates the surrounding Vallata di Acqua Sa Canna valley, offering insight into the life and social structures of that era.
In addition to the Nuraghe and the village, the complex also includes two 'Tombe di Giganti' (Giants' Tombs) and 'Domus de Janas' (Fairy Houses), underscoring the site's importance as both a settlement and a burial ground. A visit to Seruci is a journey back in time to Sardinia's fascinating past.
