Su Nuraxi di Barumini is the most outstanding example of Sardinia's unique Nuragic defensive complexes. This archaeological site, discovered in the 1950s, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997, bearing witness to the advanced culture of the Nuragic people in Sardinia.
