Semestene Nuraghe

The Nuraghe Semestène is an impressive example of the prehistoric Sardinian Nuragic culture. It is a single, circular tower that rises majestically among the fields of Bortigali and has preserved a maximum height of eight meters. Its presence tells of a bygone era when these fortifications not only offered protection but also served as dwellings and places of worship.

Nuraghi are unique structures, found nowhere else in the world, demonstrating the complex architectural and social skills of the Nuragic people of Sardinia. The Nuraghe Semestène, though perhaps less known than some of its larger relatives, nonetheless helps to convey the island's rich history and heritage.
