Nuraghe Candelargiu, located near San Giovanni Suergiu in southwestern Sardinia, is a testament to the complex architecture of the Nuragic civilization. Its main structure consists of a central tower flanked by two other towers, creating a characteristic trilobate shape, easily recognizable especially from an aerial perspective.
Built from large blocks of andesite, Nuraghe Candelargiu demonstrates the prehistoric inhabitants' skill in erecting monumental structures. Although parts of the site have suffered over the centuries, its importance as an archaeological site is undeniable and has been researched since 2014 as part of the international "Proyecto Nuraghe". These studies allow us to learn more about the lifestyle and culture of the Nuragic period and to preserve this fascinating place for future generations.
