Nuraghe Bruncu su Pisu

Nuraghe Bruncu su Pisu, often also known as Nuraghe Piscu, majestically perches on a hill near Sinnai in southern Sardinia. This impressive testament to the Nuragic culture, built between approximately the 15th and 11th centuries BC, is characterized by its massive, single-towered construction, where huge stone blocks were artfully fitted together without the use of mortar or clay. With a base area of almost 9x9 meters, it is among the larger examples of these prehistoric structures and testifies to the advanced architecture of the time.

Adjacent to the central nuraghe, the immediate vicinity reveals the remains of an extensive Nuragic settlement. This consisted of several circular homes and offers insights into the daily life of the Nuragic people. The strategic location on the hill not only provided a wide view over the valley and the San Bartolomeo church but also served for defense and control of the surrounding area. Nuraghe Bruncu su Pisu is an outstanding example of Iron Age tower construction and offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into Sardinia's rich history.
