Villanova Truschedu, known in the Sardinian language as Bidda Noa Truschedu, is a small municipality in the province of Oristano in western Sardinia. The village is located in the historical region of Barigadu and has a population of approximately 292 inhabitants. Covering an area of about 16.5 square kilometres, the site represents a typical settlement structure of the Sardinian inland. The municipality is situated northeast of the provincial capital, Oristano, and offers a striking landscape due to its position along the Tirso river. As part of the region of Sardinia, the village combines traditional structures with the tranquility of the rural environment, far from the island's major tourist centers.

Geographically, Villanova Truschedu is situated in a strategic position within the province of Oristano. The municipality is located approximately 15 to 16 kilometres northeast of the city of Oristano. Additionally, the village lies about 90 kilometres northwest of the regional capital, Cagliari. The municipal territory covers an area of 16.5 square kilometres. A defining geographical feature is its immediate proximity to the Tirso river, the longest river in Sardinia, which significantly shapes the surroundings of the municipality. The settlement is assigned to the historical region of Barigadu, further specifying its cultural and geographical classification within the island.
